Samuel is a research affiliate at Resound Research. He is Chief Medical Officer at Planned Parenthood of Montana, where he has worked since moving from Texas in 2022.
Samuel conducts research on reproductive health policy, access to medical care for survivors of sexual violence, and treatment of substance use disorders.
He received a BA from Brown University and an MD from Harvard Medical School, and completed residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital.
At Resound Research, Samuel focuses on conducting research on inequality in access to reproductive health care. He has led projects on understanding intersection of sexual assault and pregnancy with state-level abortion bans. Samuel aims to use his clinical perspective to enhance the understanding of trends in data, centering the role of patients and providers in understanding policy impacts.
