Dr. Leyser-Whalen has worked with Resound Research on projects related to Texas abortion funds and promotoras and reproductive health on the U.S.-Mexico border. She appreciates all the work coming out of the Resound Research team and looks forward to contributing more, given the dire need for reproductive justice in Texas and the U.S.
Dr. Leyser-Whalen has a PhD in sociology from the University of Kansas and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch before coming to The University of Texas at El Paso, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Sociology. Dr. Leyser-Whalen is a medical sociologist specializing in reproductive health and justice.
