Lauren Thaxton, MD, is a research affiliate at Resound Research for Reproductive Health. She works as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado in the Department of OB-GYN, Division of Complex Family Planning.
Dr. Thaxton’s research focuses on postpartum contraception and the impacts of abortion restrictions on health outcomes and training of OB-GYN residents. She sees her mission at Resound Research as supporting each person’s right to bodily autonomy as a necessary component to equity.
Dr. Thaxton received her medical degree from Texas Tech School of Medicine, and MBA from Texas Tech University. She went on to complete her residency in OB-GYN, fellowship in Complex Family Planning and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Mexico.
