Kari is the Executive and Scientific Director at Resound Research for Reproductive Health. She has more than 12 years of experience conducting research on policies affecting access to abortion and contraception in the US. At Resound Research, she provides strategic leadership for the organization and its research agenda.
Prior to leading Resound Research, Kari spent more than a decade as a university faculty member, including tenured positions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of Texas at Austin. She has an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona, an MPH from Tulane University, and a PhD from UT Austin in Sociology/Demography.
In her role at Resound Research, Kari is committed to ensuring that sound research is used to inform policies that mitigate existing disparities and barriers to care and that advance new strategies so that people in all communities can obtain evidence-based healthcare.
