Briana is an Assistant Research Scientist at Resound Research for Reproductive Health. She has a wide array of research interests spanning from reproductive justice and health equity to global health and community-based participatory research. She has experience with qualitative and quantitative methods working across borders, cultures, and languages. Over the past decade she has worked in and with Black and Latinx communities in the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Briana recently graduated with a PhD in International Health and Sustainable Development from Tulane University’s CSW School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine where she defended her dissertation, a mixed methods study interrogating at Intersectional impacts of racism, classism, and sexism on sexual and reproductive health among Afro-Peruvians and Afro-Brazilians.
In her role at Resound Research, she will be working with both the quantitative and qualitative teams on analysis, data collection, and scientific writing to contribute to work focused on sexual and reproductive health which will aim to help direct policy that supports reproductive justice and health access for all in her home state of Texas and across the US.
