We conduct original research and analyze existing data to create meaningful results. Stakeholders use our findings to develop strategies that:
Our research on contraception aims to improve access to the full range of contraceptive methods for people of all backgrounds—especially those using publicly funded programs—and remove barriers that stand in the way of people obtaining their preferred method.
We evaluate the impact of policies that restrict abortion care and examine strategies that can expand access to this essential part of reproductive healthcare.
We evaluate the intersection of policies in different areas of sexual and reproductive healthcare. Our work addresses the nuanced changes within systems of care, including legislative impacts on the clinical workforce.
We recognize that the laws and policies do not affect all communities in the same way. Our work demonstrates some of these uneven impacts and identifies strategies that support more equitable access to care.
We critically assess and rigorously analyze the scale and impact of reproductive health policies on people’s lives and experiences, using both existing data sources and qualitative and quantitative data we collect ourselves.
We document big-picture impacts on people’s experiences. We employ advanced statistical methods, including causal inference, quasi-experimental, and preference assessment techniques. We also use rapid-qualitative assessments and grounded-theory-informed analyses of in-depth interviews and focus groups.
