We are proud to announce that Dr. Gracia Sierra, Data Scientist and Researcher at Resound Research for Reproductive Health, has been selected as one of the Society of Family Planning’s 2025 Changemakers in Family Planning awardees.
Dr. Sierra is an interdisciplinary researcher — trained as an economist, sociologist, and demographer — whose work examines socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in reproductive health. Her research focuses on access to sexual and reproductive healthcare in Texas, with a special commitment to understanding and addressing the unique needs of Hispanic Texans, the state’s largest demographic group.
The Changemakers in Family Planning award will provide Dr. Sierra with mentorship, training, and protected time to develop an independent research portfolio aimed at advancing equity-centered, evidence-based policies.
